The final feria of the year will take place in San Pedro de Alcántara from Tuesday 15 until Sunday 20 October. Held in honour of the town's patron, Saint Peter of Alcántara, the fair begins at 7pm on Tuesday with the grand parade of the giants. This is followed by a spectacular firework display on the Playa La Salida (9.30pm) and the official inauguration and illumination of the feria lights, which will be switched on by Spanish film director David Galiano.

The daytime fair starts on Wednesday at 1.30pm, when visitors enjoy the festivities and the dancing of sevillanas in one of the colourful casetas. Wednesday is also 'Dia de los Niños', a day when children enjoy reduced rates on the fairground attractions, and the Gran Fiesta Infantil, which is held in the municipal caseta from 5pm.

Other highlights of the fair include the parade of horse-drawn carriages that leaves Avenida Pablo Ruiz Picasso at 5pm on Friday; and the religious procession in honour of the patron saint, which leaves the Plaza de la Iglesia at 12.30pm on Saturday.

A series of free concerts will be staged in the municipal caseta, starting with Spanish pop band Dvicio (Thursday); award-winning singer Lola Índigo (Friday), and celebrated flamenco fusion band Ketama (Saturday). All concerts begin at 11.30pm.

The final act of the feria will be a dance spectacular performed by the Certamen de Escuelas de Baile, which will be held in the municipal caseta on Sunday 20 October at 6.30pm.
