The Segunda División 21-22 season fixtures list was revealed this week with Malaga CF's first rivals being Mirandés on the weekend of 14-15 August (day and time to be confirmed).

In what promises to be the first time back into La Rosaleda stadium for fans since March 2020, the opening fixture will also bring new coach José Alberto López and player Javi Jiménez back face-to-face with the club they left to join Malaga at the end of last season.

Malaga's first away game will be the following weekend against newly promoted Ibiza, making them the first visitors to play on the brand new pitch at the Can Misses stadium in a league game.

First though Malaga have four friendly matches set up for the preseason after they report back for duty next Wednesday.

On 21 July they visit Vélez CF who have been promoted to the new Segunda RFEF division (Spain's fourth tier) and the following Saturday they play their first home friendly against Sevilla Atlético at Malaga's Federación ground (7pm).

On Saturday 31 July Malaga CF will take on fellow second division side Alcorcón at Marbella FootballCenter (10am).

Their final and most challenging, friendly will be on Friday 6 August, as guests of first division Granada CF at Los Cármenes stadium.
