England XI maintain their momentum on Day 3 of Championship Week

The European Cricket Championship 2021 is drawing to a close and the winner will be announced on Friday 8 October

The third day of Championship Week, Wednesday 6 October, at the European Cricket Championship 2021 kicked off with the England XI side showcasing serious momentum, with comprehensive wins against Italy by 7 wickets and Austria by 9 wickets.

In doing so, they maintained their position at the top of the points table.

Belgium were unable to keep their unbeaten record against Netherlands XI, who had an exciting 11 run victory which sealed their place in the top three.

Nevertheless, Belgium are still second in the points table, with 7 points.

Belgium also lost to the hosts Spain, who snatched their first win by 5 wickets of Championship Week. Spain are still at the bottom of the points table.

In the final game of the day, Italy overcame Austria by 7 wickets to swap places in the standings and finish fourth.

Thursday's matches will see two teams disqualified.

The final four will then battle it out to be crowned the Dream11 European Cricket Championship Champion winner on Friday 8 October at the picturesque Cártama Oval in Malaga.
