The line-up for the AnyTech365 Marbella Tennis Open 2020, the Challenger event to be held at the Puente Romano Tennis Club from 24 October to 1 November, has been announced with two players currently in the world top 100 standing out: Italian Gianluca Mager (89th in the ranking) and Argentinean Federico Coria (99th and brother of Guillermo). The remainder of those set to play in the tournament proper are all in the top 200.
Several former champions of ATP tournaments and with great experience on the tour are also among those registered. Paolo Lorenzi (130th), for example, has won 21 titles in the Challenger category. Also noteworthy is the presence of Andrej Martin (102nd), the Italian Marco Cecchinato, who just over a year ago was 16th in the world rankings, semi-finalist at Roland Garros and with three ATP titles in his possession; the Argentine Facundo Bagnis, who was 55th, and has twelve titles in this category; the Bolivian Hugo Dellien (104th) and the Slovak Jozef Kovalik (124th) who have five final victories each.
As for the Spanish players, Roberto Carballés (101st and in the last eight at Roland Garros), Pedro Martínez (105th and semi-finalist in 2019 in Marbella and one of the best players on the tour), Jaume Munar (109th), Bernabé Zapata and Carlos Taberner stand out, the latter two having won their first Challenger titles after the resumption of play this year.
The most notable absentee is local boy Alejandro Davidovich who has other commitments but was expected to feature when the event was originally scheduled to take place between 30 March and 5 April.
