  • A goalless draw on Sunday was a good result for both sides who were loath to commit errors for the opposition to seize upon

Another goalless draw saw Marbella extend their unbeaten league run to seven, with only one goal conceded, on Sunday afternoon.

Visitors Badajoz, themselves without suffering defeat in their last three games, were equally as determined as their hosts to avoid defeat and, as a result, fans inside the Estadio Antonio Lorenzo were not treated to a classic.

Chances were at a premium as neither side took risks in possession. Marbella's Juanma came closest with a header, while Badajoz, now managed by former Blanquillos coach Mehdi Nafti, tried their luck from distance.

In the second half, Marbella coach David Cubillo, tried to inject more urgency into his side. Samu Delgado and Ismael Gallar responded with some more direct running but in truth, neither side exerted themselves in the search of the breakthrough goal.

The point leaves Marbella in 10th place, some eight points clear of relegation trouble but 13 points off the playoffs.

Next up is a trip to Murcia on Sunday.
