Marbella's 100 per cent victory record at home came to an end on Sunday as they fought out a 0-0 draw with UCAM Murcia.
Set back by injuries to forwards Juanma, Montero and Añón (who have scored eight goals between them), the Costa del Sol side once again struggled in front of goal, going scoreless for the second consecutive week.
Much of the action in the first half was concentrated in the middle of the park, with the goalkeepers mere spectators as neither side took risks in trying to break down the opposition.
In fact, there were only two chances of note in the entire half with Wilfred denying Víctor Curto from close range, and Mackay thwarting Jürgen with a save for the cameras.
Murcia came close with three clear chances in the second half but the hosts managed to weather the storm thanks to some very adept goalkeeping.
José Ramón mustered a chance out of nothing for Marbella but his effort didn't test Mackay.
Marbella travel to the Balearics to take on recently-promoted UD Ibiza on Sunday. Just four points separate the two sides in 11th and 18th place, respectively.
