Atlético Sanluqueño ran out deserved winners on Sunday as an under par Marbella side were fortunate to head back to the Costa del Sol with just two added to their 'goals against' column.

The hosts made the better start, but the first chance of the game fell to the visitors when keeper Diego García slipped in an attempt to control the ball, but Montero failed to take advantage of the situation.

Besides this, however, a freekick from Elías Pérez in the 25th minute, which flew into the stand, was the only chance the visitors could create in the half.

Five minutes later came the breakthrough. A loose pass in the middle of the park was seized upon by Mawi who surged straight through the middle into a one-on-one with Wilfred, whom he beat with a deft flick.

Edu Oriol could have doubled his side's advantage just before the break but his final effort lacked power.

If morale was low going into the break, it got much worse for Marbella in the moments following it when goalkeeper Wilfred helped to keep the scoreline respectable.

First, he denied an effort from Dani Del Moral, before being sharp to deny a certain goal from Abel Gómez's close-range header.

Marbella's error-strewn performance worsened as the half went on and only Wilfred could ultimately emerge from the match with any credit, continuously bailing out his teammates with improbable saves.

However, even Wilfred's resistance was eventually broken with twelve minutes left to play when Edu Oriol's surged down the left wing then curled a shot around the stopper into the far corner to make it 2-0 - nowhere near the scoreline Saluqueño's dominance deserved.
