Malaga will become the centre of the hockey world on Monday. Throughout the week, various venues will host the Five Nations field hockey tournament and the indoor Spanish championships.
The first three days of the Five Nations (from 29 to 31 January) will take place at the Carranque sports centre, while the final stages (1 to 4 February) will be at Benalmádena's hockey club.
Spain, Canada, USA, Ireland and Scotland will be facing off, competing for ranking points to qualify for the World Championships to be held in London from 21 July to 5 August.
A number of events for children, mostly in Benalmádena, will coincide with the tournament.
Further east, the Rubén Ruzafa sports hall in Rincón de la Victoria will host the 65th Indoor Spanish Championships from 2 to 4 February.
The competition, which has a similar format to basketball's Copa del Rey, welcomes eight teams, two from Malaga province.
