Not for the first time this window, Malaga have taken a look into their past to find a solution for the future. This time it's Samuel García making his return to La Rosaleda. He played for the club from 2010 to 2015 and rejoins on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The attacker, who can play in any position across the frontline, joins from Levante on a loan which will become permanent should Malaga avoid relegation at the end of the season.
Samu, as he is known, wasn’t originally a priority target, but the collapse of a move for Ricardo Centurión (who has seemingly had his head turned by clubs in his native Argentina) saw sporting director Mario Husillos switch targets.
Samu, now 27, will be looking to return to the form which sealed him moves to Villarreal and Rubin Kazan before an ill-fated return to Spain with Leganés and Levante.
