Three of the most popular apps in the world - WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook - have all gone down this Monday evening, 4 October, in a major outage.
The three apps – which are all owned by Facebook – all stopped working at around 6pm in Spain. All three run on shared infrastructure.
WhatsApp users were able to connect to the service but it did not show new messages, while Facebook users saw an error page stating “Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on it and we'll get it fixed as soon as we can.”
We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
