The cumulative incidence rate for coronavirus continues to drop in the Andalusian region and this Monday, 4 October, it stands at 42.7 Covid cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days.

The figure was revealed by the Junta de Andalucía’s Minister of Health, Jesús Aguirre, during an interview on Canal Sur Radio, in which he highlighted that the incidence per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days stands at 16, which shows that the fifth wave has been "overcome" although not the pandemic.

The region has added three coronavirus deaths and 199 new infections over the weekend, a figure lower than the 362 from a week ago.

Hospital pressure down

Andalucía has also seen, this Monday a reduction of 26 patients hospitalised for Covid-19 compared to Saturday, making a total of 285. It is a decrease of 83 compared to last Monday.

Meanwhile, the numbers of people admitted to an intensive care unit with coronavirus has dropped by three in the last 48 hours to 85, some 19 fewer than those reported seven days ago.
