The number of coronavirus patients in Andalusian hospitals falls

  • In the Junta's latest daily update, there are 70 fewer Covid-19 cases admitted to general wards and 18 fewer in intensive care units

The Andalusian region has this Wednesday, 1 September, registered a total of 949 new coronavirus infections - the second time in three months that fewer than a thousand daily cases have been counted since the 938 positives on 18 May. It is a reduction of 31 compared to the day before and 811 less than seven days ago.

The Junta de Andalucía has also recorded a total of 15 deaths, four less than the previous day, two less than ago a week and that brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the region to 10,882, since the start of the pandemic.

The cumulative incidence rate for the virus in Andalucía this Wednesday stands at 227 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which is 12.4 fewer than the previous day and 80.1 down on seven days ago.

The region has also registered a decrease of 70 Covid patients in hospital compared to Tuesday, so the total now stands at 952. There are 188 patients admitted to an intensive care unit, some 18 fewer in the last 24 hours.
