  • The Junta's Ministry of Health has confirmed that, so far, none have shown any adverse effects and they are being monitored at home

Eight people have been accidentally vaccinated with 'undiluted' doses of the Pfizer / BioNTech coronavirus vaccine in Andalucía, it has been confirmed.

The incident happened last Friday at a mobile vaccination unit in San Juan de Aznalfarache, in Seville.

Once the error was detected the Junta de Andalucía’s Ministry of Health said the eight people were transferred from the vaccination site to the San Juan de Aznalfarache health centre in the city, where they were examined by a primary care doctor.

The regional government said that the eight have not suffered any adverse effects, so far, and health personnel will continue monitoring them at home until 72 hours after the injection.

The Ministry of Health points out that, according to the first clinical trials carried out with an increase in the dose administered, it was observed that there was no increased risk of adverse effects when double the usual amount was used.
