Andalusian president asks public to 'stay at home' in face of 'explosion' of Covid-19 cases

On the eve of a meeting of experts to discuss a tightening of coronavirus control measures in the region, the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has appealed for "responsibility" from the public in the face of the "explosive" increase in infections during the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He has asked people in Andalucía to "stay at home to the best of their ability" and try "not to multiply unnecessary social gatherings" or move meetings with friends or family members who are not living together to their homes.
Moreno delivered his message in the Seville town of Mairena del Alcor during a speech at the inauguration of new hospital facilities.
The Junta’s head said he anticipated that it will be the "hardest, most difficult and complex time of those experienced so far".
He asked the public for "responsibility in each of our behaviours" and suggested "stay at home as far as possible".
