Government loans via banks to help those struggling with rent

More details have been given of government-backed loans, to be made available via banks, for those who cannot pay their rent due to the economic crisis.

The so-called ICO loans will be given for up to six monthly rent payments of up to 900 euros each.

Certain requirements will need to be met such as proof of reduction in income directly due to Covid-19 and that household income doesn't reach 2,689 euros, among other criteria.

Details of the roll-out of the scheme are still being finalised with the banks.
