US unhappy over treatment of victims of sexual attacks in Spain

National Police has denied accusations that victims have had their credibility questioned in post-attack interviews

There was upset this week after the US issued a warning to Americans that it is increasingly risky for single women to travel alone in Spain.

It says that its embassy in Madrid has received a surge in cases of sexual assaults on its citizens.

A spokesperson also said the US is unhappy that victims in Spain have their credibility questioned in post-attack interviews, an accusation that the National Police has denied.
