Martin Scorsese among winners of Princess of Asturias prizes

The Asturian city of Oviedo, in northern Spain, was venue for the Princess of Asturias Awards prize giving as usual last Friday.

These annual awards honour individuals or organisations for their distinguished service or contribution to global society in nine different categories. They are currently presented by the king and queen and named after the official title of the monarch's eldest child and heir to the throne. Winner of the 2018 prize for the Arts was American film director Martin Scorsese.
