Motorcyclist dies after hitting a traffic light in Malaga

The incident follows two other fatal accidents involving bikers on the province's roads at the weekend

A 41-year-old motorcyclist died in the early hours of this Wednesday morning, 18 August, after hitting a traffic light in Malaga, according to the 112 Andalucía emergency control room.

The accident happened at around 4am and, despite health workers and police quickly arriving on the scene in Avenida Lope de Vega, they could only confirm the death of the biker.

The latest death follows a black day on the roads of the province last Sunday, when two motorcyclists died after separate accidents. In the first, a 17-year-old food delivery man for a Chinese restaurant died after a crash on a roundabout in Alhaurín de la Torre, while the second victim, a 60-year-old retired ambulance driver, died while riding his motorcycle on the A-356 in Vélez-Málaga.
