A 20-year-old person has died at dawn this Thursday, 14 October, after being run over on the A-7 road in the Puerto Banús area, the Andalusian Emergency Service 112 control centre has confirmed.
The accident was reported by the Guardia Civil at 5am at kilometre 174 of the main road that runs along the Costa del Sol.
Health service personnel called to the scene could only confirm the death of the person.
The circumstances surrounding the incident occurred are now being investigated by the police.
The section of road at kilometre point 174 is an accident black spot where there have been several previous deaths, generally when people have tried to cross the busy road, and usually in the early hours of the morning.
A few years ago a metal fence was installed on top of the concrete blocks that separate the lanes to try and prevent these actions.
In August, a 20-year-old tourist died when he was crossing the road in the same area.
