Doctors have praised the quick actions of a waiter for saving the life of a woman who suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest at a beach bar in Torremolinos.
According to SUR sources, the young man carried out a resuscitation manoeuvres after detecting that the woman had no pulse, an action that, according to doctors, was vital to saving her life.
It happened a week ago, at a chiringuito on the beach in the Costa del Sol town. The waiter had only four days earlier attended an intensive first aid class as part of the course he is doing to obtain a qualification to be a jet ski instructor.
The young man performed the CPR manoeuvres, involving chest compressions and air inflations, until the emergency services arrived.
Sources have confirmed to SUR that the victim is recovering well from her ordeal.
