The Meliá hotel chain is due to grow on the Costa del Sol when it takes over Las Arenas in Benalmadena next year.

The hotel will form part of the Affiliated by Meliá network of independent establishments that maintain their own identity and, at the same time, benefit from Meliá's commercial leadership.

Meliá Hotels International has chosen Las Arenas for its "privileged location in one of the most popular destinations on the Costa del Sol, which stands out for the high quality of its offer, its high standards of service and its high levels of satisfaction."

Meliá Hotels International has twelve other establishments on the Costa del Sol.

The beachfront hotel has 162 rooms and an extensive variety of services which "in combination with its great experience and know-how, make it the ideal place to enjoy the destination," said the group.

It also also pointed out that the hotel has an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, as well as a restaurant and a terrace-bar, with a solarium and table area, "where guests can enjoy incredible sunsets."

Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, executive vice president and CEO of Meliá, said,"It is a credit that establishments such as the Las Arenas hotel, whose business is already well-established in the destination, join Meliá to go forward. Created in 2020, Affiliated by Meliá is a model that, through alliances like this one, helps us grow while offering our support and know-how to independent hotels."

He explained that 38 hotels are already part of this network.

Jaume said, "The network presents itself as an opportunity for independent hotels to work hand-in-hand with one of the main hotel companies and have Meliá's resources in terms of distribution and loyalty, in addition to other à la carte services adapted to their needs."
