Helicopter rescue and airlift to hospital for injured hiker in Torremolinos

The Guardia Civil's mountain rescue team was called in after the 44-year-old man suffered a fall


An injured man has been safely rescued and transferred to hospital by helicopter after suffering a fall while hiking in Torremolinos (Malaga), according to the Emergency 112 Andalucía coordination centre.

The alarm was raised at around 11.50 am on Thursday, 14 October, when help was requested for a man who had suffered an ankle injury while walking in a group on a path heading towards the Monte Calamorro.

The Guardia Civil’s mountain rescue team and a helicopter were sent to the scene and rescued the 44-year-old walker, before flying him to Malaga’s Clínico hospital.
