Andalucía's top court, the Superior Court of Justice (TSJA) has ratified the regional government's call for a night lockdown in the Malaga town of Campillos, limiting the freedom of movement between 2am and 7am.

The restriction measure will come into effect for seven days on the day following its publication in the BOJA Official Gazette.

The Territorial Committee for High Impact Public Health Alerts of Malaga met last Wednesday, 4 August, to analyse the Covid-19 data in the province and decided to the propose measure to restrict the freedom of movement in the early hours of the morning for Campillos, when the coronavirus incidence rate was 1,156.6 per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days. This Friday (6 August) it stands at 1,120.8.

The court considers that the Junta's proposed seven-day measure «is necessary, suitable and proportionate given the pandemic situation.»

The night lockdown has exceptions, such as the acquisition of medicines, health products and other essential goods; emergency trips to health centres or vets; work, professional or business obligations; the care of the elderly, minors or dependents and institutional or legal reasons.
