  • Autocine Málaga Metrovacesa recreates the popular 1950s open-air movie theatres in the States and will feature a huge 250-square-metre screen

The new Autocine Málaga Metrovacesa drive-in cinema will open its doors in the city on 8 October. And it will do so in style with the screening of the classic film, Grease.

This newest cultural space in Malaga is located on the Guadalhorce industrial estate and will be open all year round, becoming the first permanent drive-in movie theatre in Andalucía and the second largest in Europe.

Tickets for this first public screening are already available from 7.50 euros per person (children from 4 to 12 years 6 euros) on the company’s website.

There are family and food packages available and a VIP parking area that ensures the best views.

As the company explains, cars will be distributed according their size with low and small cars from row 1 to 4, SUVs cars in rows 5 and 6, and SUVs and 4x4s from row 7 onwards.

Autocine Málaga Metrovacesa will be a venue that resembles the American cinemas of the 1950s, occupying a 16,000 square metre site and featuring a huge 250-square-metre screen. There is a 3,000 square metre gastronomic area with food trucks and an American diner.

In addition, starting on Saturday, 9 October, there will be daytime events at the weekends and on public holidays from 12 noon with children's activities, music and food trucks. The company promises the best DJs, show cooking and many surprises.

The planned capacity of the Malaga Metrovacesa drive-in will be 250 vehicles and there will also be an area for motorcycles, with a total estimated capacity of approximately 3,200 people. Tickets are already on sale on the website: https://www.autocines.com/
