A 20-year-old young woman has died and her male companion, 25, has been seriously injured when their car collided with a lorry in the municipality of Antequera, according to 112 Andalucía, the emergency service control centre.

The accident happened at around 9.30 pm on Wednesday, 22 September. Callers alerted the emergency services to the incident involving a car and a lorry on the A-7283 and that there were people trapped.

Firefighters had to cut the victims free from the wreckage.

112 Andalucía has confirmed that a 20-year-old young woman died in the accident, while a 25-year-old young man was seriously injured and was rushed to Antequera Hospital. He was later transferred to the Regional hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
