The Territorial Committee for High Impact Public Health Alerts of Malaga met this Wednesday, August 25, to analyse the coronavirus situation in the province of Malaga and has decided that all the health districts should continue at health alert Level 2 for at least another week.

Consequently, there will be no changes to the existing coronavirus control measures in force across the province.

Like last week, no restriction on night mobility has been requested in any municipality in the province, since there only one town, although with less than 5,000 inhabitants, that exceeds the rate of 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in two weeks. It is Montejaque, which has a cumulative incidence rate of 1,159.1.

The rate for Malaga province of Malaga has dropped, in a week by more than 150, going from 462.2 seven days ago to stand at 308.0.

By health districts

The Malaga health district has lowered the incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days, from 555.3 a week ago to the current 345.2. The city’s rate has also fallen this Wednesday compared to the previous week and places it at 355.6 (seven days ago it was 572.9).

In this health district there are also the municipalities of Almogía, which has a rate of 263.7; Macharaviaya, 389.9; Moclinejo, 0; Rincón de la Victoria, 242; and Totalán, 0.

The Costa del Sol health district rate per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days is 309.2 compared to 418.0 seven days ago.

Benahavís has a rate of 64.5; Benalmádena, 344.2; Casares, 217.9; Estepona, 375.9; Fuengirola, 225.7; Istán, 66.9; Manilva, 377.2; Marbella, 357; Mijas, 236.5; Ojén, 288.3; and Torremolinos, 321.

In the case of the Serranía health district, the rate has decreased compared to the previous week and has gone from 332.7 to stand at 183.6. In this district is the municipality with the highest rate in the province, Montejaque with 1,159.1. Ronda, the municipality with the largest population in this district, has a rate of 177.9.

In the district are the municipalities of Alpandeire, Atajate, Benadalid, Benarrabá, El Burgo, Cartajima, Faraján, Gaucín, Genalguacil, Jimera de Líbar, Jubrique, Júzcar, Montecorto, Parauta, and Pujerra, which have not registered any infections in the last 14 days, so they have a rate of zero.

With a rate of 310.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants is the Valle del Guadalhorce health district, which recorded a rate of 446.6 last week. Here, the municipality of Pizarra is the one with the highest rate (455.3) and only Carratraca has not registered infections in the last 14 days.

In the La Vega health district, the rate has fallen and has gone from 442.9 cases in seven days to 265.0 this Wednesday. The town of Villanueva del Trabuco, with a rate of 452.1, is the one with the highest incidence rate compared to Villanueva del Rosario, which has a rate of 59.5.

Finally, the incidence in the Axarquía health district has dropped from a rate of 285.6 last Wednesday to 199.2 today. In the district, Colmenar is the one with the highest rate, standing at 498.7, compared to Alfarnate, Alfarnatejo, Árchez, Canillas de Aceituno, Cútar, Salares and Viñuela, which have not registered any coronavirus cases in two weeks.
