Paraglider dies after Antequera accident

The man who suffered a paragliding accident in Villanueva de Cauche (Antequera), last Wednesday, died on Sunday at a Malaga hospital .

Enrique Morales, was a Junta de Andalucía environmental agent, assigned to the Axarquía area as a forest guardian. He was 45 years old.

The Medio Ambiente service reported the death of their agent saying, "Rest in peace; our condolences to family, friends and colleagues.”

The accident occurred around 8pm of last Wednesday, when an eye witness called the 112 emergency services to report that they had seen a paraglider hit a hillside in a climbing area known as' Yugoslavia ', located in the Antequera district of Villanueva de Cauche.

An complex operation was launched to find Enrique involving the Guardia Civil, members of the Malaga fire brigade, Local Police, Civil Protection volunteers and health workers.

Enrique was rushed to hospital in Malaga in a serious condition and since then he was treated until Sunday, when he died of the injuries.
