  • They will join businesses in Marbella, Fuengirola, Estepona, Benalmádena, Torremolinos, Nerja, Rincón de la Victoria, Mijas and Manilva, who already have this freedom

From this Sunday (25 July) shopping centres and large stores in Malaga city will be allowed to open every Sunday of the summer, until 30 September.

The Junta’s declaration of the municipality as an ‘area of large tourist influx’ will allow the provincial capital’s shopping centres and large stores to join those in Marbella, Fuengirola, Estepona, Benalmádena, Torremolinos, Nerja, Rincón de la Victoria, Mijas and Manilva who already enjoy the freedom to choose whether to open on Sundays.

In Malaga, the approval will especially benefit Plaza Mayor, Ikea, Leroy Merlin and El Corte Inglés; but also any store that has more than 300 square metres of retail space.
