Ten people injured - one very seriously - as a vehicle ploughs into customers at two Marbella bars

A vehicle has reportedly hit several customers who were sat on the terrace of two Marbella bars this Monday afternoon (19 July).

According to SUR sources, eight people have been transferred to the Costa del Sol Hospital, and another two with serious injuries to Malaga.

Witnesses said the vehicle mounted the pavement and hit around 30 tables of the two establishments - a tapas bar and a sushi bar - in Avenida Miguel Cano, a pedestrian zone in the Costa del Sol town.

There is a large emergency services presence at the scene including firefighters, police and ambulance crews.

Reports suggest that a 30-year-old Spanish man, was driving the vehicle and has tested negative for alcohol and drugs.

National Police enquiries are continuing, but they have already ruled out it being related to terrorism.
