An inmate of the Malaga II prison, in Archidona, has died after suffering a blow to the head, which caused a brain haemorrhage. Authorities are investigating whether the deceased, 51-year-old man, suffered the injury when he fell to the ground after losing his balance during a fight in which he was involved.
After the brawl the prisoner was transferred to Malaga’s Regional Hospital where he died last Friday (18 June).
An autopsy will be held to determine the cause of death.
Last March, another inmate from the prison also died after being transferred to the Regional Hospital with a severe head injury after being violently attacked.
