Spain's state weather agency, Aemet, has warned of sweltering weather across Andalucía in the next few days.

Experts activated yellow warnings for high temperatures in the provinces of Seville, Cordoba and Jaén which are set to expire this Wednesday evening (9 June).

According to the forecasters, on Thursday Andalucía will be the hottest Spanish region with temperatures between 37 and 40 degrees in most provinces. In Granada, Jaén, Huelva and Almeria a maximum of more than 35 degrees is expected.

In addition, the thermometers will not drop below a minimum temperature of 20 degrees, and practically the whole of Andalucía will enjoy 'tropical nights' over the next few days.

Forecasters are also warning that, particularly on Thursday, the UV index will be extremely high.
