Coronavirus deaths drop by 94 per cent in three months in Malaga province

The effectiveness of the coronavirus vaccine has led to a significant reduction in the number of Covid-19 deaths in Malaga province, it is claimed.
The number of deaths from the virus has decreased by 94.17 per cent in the last three months – going from the 395 deaths in February (the month with the highest number of fatalities in the entire pandemic in Malaga) to the 23 with which May ended.
As more of the population have been vaccinated, the number of deaths has decreased significantly and there were 152 deaths in March and 71 in April.
The immunisation of the elderly, a population group in which SARS-CoV-2 infection can be most serious, has brought about a marked decrease in deaths.
Although none of the four vaccines that are being injected (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Janssen) stop infections, all prevent the virus from manifesting in the worst possible way and ending the life of the patient.
Since the first death from Covid was reported in Malaga province on 13 March 13, 2020, some 1,649 people have lost their lives due to the disease. This is the official number from the Junta de Andalucía, but the real number could be up to a third higher, since during the first wave of the pandemic, only those that happened in hospitals were counted as deaths from the virus, but there were patients who died at home without it being possible to determine whether the cause was SARS-CoV-2 or not.
