Covid figures in Malaga province hit lowest level this month with just 38 new cases reported

Malaga province registered its lowest Covid infection figure this month so far this Monday, 22 March, with 38 new confirmed cases reported by the Andalusian health authority and no new Covid-related deaths.

While the drop is significant (Sunday's new case figure was 87 and Saturday's 150), Monday's figures tend to be lower as fewer tests are carried out over the weekend.

In the region of Andalucía, the figures were also low on Monday with two deaths and 380 new cases reported, compared with 746 on Sunday and 1,179 on Saturday.

The lower numbers of cases reported has also cotnributed to bringing down the 14-day cumulative incidence figure per 100,000 inhabitants, now at 86.7 for Malaga province (122.5 in Andalucía).

In Malaga province on Sunday there were 178 patients with Covid in hospital, 34 of them intensive care. The percentage of hospital beds occupied by Covid patients has gone down to 6.7.
