  • The regional government's committee of experts will meet on Thursday to discuss what measures will follow for the Christmas period

The current coronavirus restrictions in place in Andalucía will remain in place for an extra two days, until Saturday 12 December, the president of the Junta de Andalucía regional government, Juanma Moreno, tweeted on Wednesday afternoon.

However, the meeting of experts to decide what measures will follow for over the Christmas period will still take place as planned on Thursday, he added.

"Our objective will be to continue to save lives and to keep the situation under control over Christmas."

The present measures, which have been in place since 24 November, had been due to expire at midnight on 10 December.
