Witnesses to the incident, which took place in Estepona on Wednesday afternoon, say that two people got out of a car, stabbed the victim in the chest, then fled the scene
A 19-year-old man died on Wednesday after being stabbed in the car park of the Diana shopping centre in Estepona.
The events took place at around 2.30pm, when the emergency services received various calls about an incident on Avenida de las Acacias.
The victim was apparently in the car park when a car stopped next to him and two people got out. It would appear that they stabbed him in the chest, got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.
Paramedics were unable to revive the victim who died at the scene.
One witness who called the 112 hotline said that a fight was taking place, while others said that it had been a premeditated and surprise attack.
The information about the perpetrators, for whom the search continues, is also unclear. One source said it was two men, while others say it was a "light-haired" couple, possibly of foreign origin, who fled in a white Mercedes car.
