New Covid-19 outbreak reported on the Costa del Sol with four cases

Monday's official Covid-19 figures from the Andalusian health authority revealed a daily increase of 23 new cases in the province of Malaga, 12 more than the total announced on Sunday.

The authority reported a new outbreak in the Costa del Sol health district with four cases on Monday. Tracing and testing of contacts is now under way. Also still under investigation is another cluster of eight cases in the Marbella area, that was first reported on Friday.

The number of positive tests related to the outbreak among employees of the firm Ocio Hoteles in the Galia office building in Malaga was at 36 on Monday, two more than the previous day.

There were no new cases reported in connection with two more active outbreaks in the province, one in Malaga (five positive tests) and another in the Antequera area (seven cases).

Meanwhile the authority considers an outbreak in the Guadalhorce district with 18 cases to now be controlled.

Six people are in hospital with Covid-19 in the province, but none in intensive care.

In Andalucía the worst Covid-19 hotspots are in Cordoba (where an outbreak has 108 cases, Almeria (102) and Granada (65).
