Hospitals in Andalucía will, as of Monday, no longer carry out coronavirus testing on patients presenting a mild acute respiratory infection, sources inside the health service told SUR. This measure has been adopted following the latest update of the Ministry of Health protocol.
The protocol states that "in a scenario of sustained widespread community transmission", people with acute respiratory infection who are hospitalised or who meet hospital admission criteria should be screened for SARS-CoV-2 infection.
The test will also still be given to health and social care personnel and those who work in other essential services.
