While Campanillas in Malaga bore the brunt of the effects of the storms on Saturday morning, the western Costa del Sol and the Guadalhorce also suffered flooding and damage as well as wintry scenes caused by hail.

Storms early on Saturday morning left a thick layer of ice formed by hailstones in several streets in the Bello Horizonte and Panorama areas of Marbella.
Around ten cars had to be rescued by the fire service after being trapped by the heavy hailstorm at around 3am. The slope of the streets meant that the hailstones gathered at the lowest point of the neighbourhood, reaching half a metre in depth in places, blocking access to some homes.
At the other end of Marbella, incidents were also reported in the area near the river Guadaiza. The growing level of the river meant that the dam gates in the reservoir had to be opened, forcing the closure of Carril del Potro, the road that joins Nueva Andalucía and San Pedro Alcántara.

The upper part of the municipality of Mijas was covered in a layer of white on Satuday morning after the heavy hailstorm during the night. The area of Valtocado received the highest volume of precipitation, as several roads were left impassable due to ice, although they were reopened later on Saturday morning.
The Mijas Local Police station was struck by lightning during the night, cutting off communications.
The emergency services were also called out to incidents in the Entrerríos area.
Guadalhorce valley
Cártama Estación suffered flooding early on Saturday morning when the Guadalhorce partially broke its banks, causing the closure of the road that links Cártama with Estación.

Some residents were trapped inside their homes once again after storms in the early hours of Thursday caused similar flooding.
In Alhaurín de la Torre, firefighters had to rescue a group of workers whose vehicle had been trapped in a flooded road in Santa Amalia, a neighbourhood that was cut off due to damaged roads for several hours.
Torremolinos
Emergency services were also busy early on Saturday in Torremolinos as rainwater, mud and debirs blocked drains, flooding garages and streets.
The adverse weather also caused power cuts and damage to promenades and beach bars in Torremolinos, as well as to pavements in some streets in La Carihuela.
