Torremolinos town hall has condemned the defacing of one of the town's murals which shows two women kissing. The incident is the latest in a series of homophobic attacks on street art that reflects the town's support of the LGBT community.
Earlier this year, homophobic graffiti was daubed in the elevator that gives access to Bajondillo beach, and also on the paseo near Bar Eden, one of the town's top gay-friendly beach bars.
Councillor for Equality and Diversity Nicolás de Miguel blasted the act, which he said is "becoming an ugly custom". "We want to demonstrate our absolute condemnation of these homophobic actions that undermine some of the hallmarks of our locality, which are tolerance respect and love."
