Marbella taxi drivers have three months to start wearing the uniform agreed recently between town hall and taxi associations. According to the new regulations drivers will have to wear a white shirt or polo shirt, dark blue trousers or skirt, dark blue waistcoat, sweater or jacket, and dark blue or black shoes.
The shirts and sweaters will also show the town's coat of arms and the word Taxi, as well as Ayuntamiento de Marbella.
The town hall said that by having its logo on the uniforms it wanted to show its support for the municipal service "which is the taxi, not VTCs", said councillor Félix Romero, with regard to the ongoing battle with Uber-style drivers.
There are currently 328 taxi licences in Marbella.
