Marbella town hall is to put private security guards in 28 public spaces in San Pedro Alcántara. These include parks and gardens as well as the seafront promenande, squares and archaeological sites.

The contract, worth 1.4 million euros, will be awarded to a private firm for a maximum of four years. The conditions include providing security 365 days a year, with at least six unarmed guards to cover the six zones identified by the council. These include around 17 public parks and playgrounds, Plaza Andalucía, the seafront promenade, the San Pedro boulevard and the Paleo-Christian basilica.
