Hundreds of people gathered outside the cemetery in El Palo, Malaga, on Sunday to pay their respects and support the family and friends of Julen, the toddler who whose body was rescued early on Saturday morning from the bottom of a borehole in Totalán.
After a private religious ceremony, the two-year-old was buried alongside his older brother Óliver, who died suddenly in 2017.
Flowers had been delivered from all over Spain, and two wreaths were placed on the grave, one from the boy's parents and another from the miners who worked on the final part of the rescue.
The initial findings in the post mortem examination carried out on Saturday indicate that Julen had died on 13 January, the same day he fell 70 metres down a borehole measuring just 25 centimetres in diameter.
