An investigation has led to the arrest of 82 people, a dozen of them minors, accused of being part of a wide-reaching scam to gain money from insurance companies.

National Police investigated 21 suspicious vehicle collisions between 2015 and 2018, many of which involved buses and taxis in Malaga city.

The idea, according to the investigation, was for the scammers to provoke a crash involving as many people as possible, in order to claim compensation.

SUR sources believe that the fraud raised at least 260,000 euros.
