The fight against illegal street traders in Marbella will continue next year, the council has announced, with new campaigns upcoming ahead of the high season in 2019.
Councillor for Commerce, José Eduardo Díaz, told representatives from Centre of Tourist Initiatives (CIT Marbella) and the Association of the Costa del Sol Hospitality Businessowners (AEHCOS) at a meeting on Wednesday that two new local bylaws cracking down on illegal trade were in the pipeline and that an informative citizens' campaign would return next year.
Díaz said that it was important that residents and visitors understood "not only that the sale of these goods is illegal, but also that buying them affects the local economy".
