The future local hospital in Estepona will not only provide a boost for healthcare provision in the area but also add a new green lung.
The town hall has announced that it will create a large green zone across 25,000 square metres which will include walking routes and areas to practise sport.
The green zone will be spread across three different levels, dictated by the local terrain. The first will be on the same level as the hospital's entrance and will have five entrances and a number of concrete paths.
The second and third will be grassland, surrounded by local species of trees. Slides will be installed to connect the second and third levels.
The project is expected to cost in excess of 500,000 euros.
