The Costa del Sol's tourism authority demonstrated the diversity of the province of Malaga on Wednesday in Madrid using fashion.
Four local designers had been given the job of reproducing the four seasons on the catwalk of the Hotel Intercontinental to show that the Costa del Sol is an attractive destination all year round.
Montesco, Rafael Urquízar, Jesús Segado and Javier Alcántara contributed their designs to the event attended by the president of the Costa del Sol tourism authority, Elías Bendodo, as well as mayors of several towns and other authorities.
Earlier on Wednesday Bendodo announced that the authority's budget was going to be increased by 50% to strengthen the promotion of the Costa del Sol among the domestic tourism market.
The figures for 2017 were good, said Bendodo, adding that this year is expected to see the definitive recovery of the Spanish market, after a major slump during the crisis years.
Marbella's promotion at Fitur aimed to tempt visitors to the town through gastronomy. Chefs from two of the province's most prestigious restaurants, El Lago and Dani García, both with Michelin stars, used their demonstrations to prove that Marbella has access to the best produce and ambiance to create quality cuisine.
The town's promotion on Thursday focused on sporting events.
