Almost three million euros for refit of main artery in Estepona

Estepona town hall has dedicated three million of the ten received from the EU to the remodelling of Avenida Andalucía.

The first phase of the project was put out to tender this week for 2,859,142 euros.

It includes the creation of new green areas, including 70 new trees; more parking spaces for both cars and bicycles; nine new fountains; 97 benches; 52 bins; and 122 new lights.

What's more, pedestrian crossings will be relocated and signage will be improved.

The project's first phase, which runs between the road's intersection with Avenida España and Camino de los Molinos, will take ten months to complete.
