The main spokesperson for self-employed workers' associations said in Malaga this week that he is hopeful that new legislation for independent workers could mean up to 250,000 people in Spain are taken out of the black economy.

From 1 January, new registered 'autónomos' pay only 50 euros a month social security for the first year.
