The Cudeca Goldies hosted their annual Christmas fair at the Ilunion Hotel in Fuengirola last weekend. The two-day event took the form of a traditional Christmas market with more than 20 stalls offering everything from handmade jewellery, clothing and accessories to festive food and decorations.
Local radio presenter Lee Jay supplied a mix of classic pop tunes and a karaoke sing-along, while the coast's popular theatrical group A Touch of Class presented a medley of music and dance from the 1960s and 70s. Along with a performance by the talented Reflections Acapella quartet and a surprise visit by Father Christmas, visitors also enjoyed a ladies' fashion show.
Several Cudeca volunteers were on hand to give information about the services Cudeca offers, and advice about how people can become involved with the charity.
The cancer hospice also used the event to launch its exclusive selection of Christmas cards, which are designed by a loyal team of talented volunteers.
Hundreds of people visited the market in search of Christmas gift ideas. Among them were John and Doreen Taylor, who had travelled from their home in Benalmádena.
"We like to support local charities and we think that Cudeca deserves all the support it can get. These guys have worked really hard to make this happen. It has been a lovely afternoon and we have both really enjoyed the entertainment and the atmosphere," Doreen explained to SUR in English.
