The eminent playwright and writer Miguel Romero Esteo, who died last November, was cremated in his home city of Malaga and his ashes are now the first to occupy a niche in the vertical garden recently created for this purpose in the city's English Cemetery.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Francisco de la Torre, Mayor of Malaga, and members of the Asociación Miguel Romero Esteo, an organisation dedicated to the promulgation of his work.
They chose the English Cemetery "for being open to those who might wish to honour his memory here, and a place chosen in the past as the last resting place of many other literary figures".
